Agartala, Jan 25: St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, has brought glory to Tripura by securing the Second Prize in the Brass Band Boys' Category at the prestigious National Level School Band Competition held at Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, from January 24 to 25.

The event witnessed the participation of 16 teams from across India, representing the four zones – North, South, East, and West – in both the Boys' and Girls' Brass and Pipe Band categories.

The Boys' Brass Band team of St. Xavier's School, representing the Eastern Zone, captivated the audience with their enchanting musical pieces and coordinated choreography, standing out among the tough competition.

The school team, comprising 29 boys aged 13-17, performed with remarkable energy and precision. Their preparation included 13 vibrant musical pieces, coupled with intricately choreographed steps that delighted the audience and judges alike.

The team demonstrated confidence and discipline, earning them well-deserved recognition on the national stage.

The event was attended by Sanjay Seth, Union Minister of State for Defence as the chief guest. Other dignitaries from the Ministry of School Education and the Ministry of Defence also attended, adding grandeur to the competition.

This sixth edition of the National Level Band Competition was jointly organized by the Ministry of School Education and the Ministry of Defence.

At the prize distribution ceremony, the Chief Guest commended the participants for their efforts and presented the awards to the winners.

St. Xavier's School was represented by Fr. Babu Stephen, the Principal, along with four dedicated teachers who supported the team throughout the journey.

This is the second time St. Xavier's School has achieved accolades in this prestigious competition, marking a proud moment in the school's history.

The school extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the team's success, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and community support.
