Agartala, Aug 13: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a benefit distribution programme under various schemes was held at Jirania block on Friday. Besides, a blood donation camp was also organized.
Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury attended the programme as chief guest.
In the programme, benefits under Chief Minister Swanirbhar Parivaar Yojana and various central schemes were distributed among the beneficiaries.
On behalf of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare department, two beneficiaries were given power tillers under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, mini rice mills were given to six beneficiaries, pump sets were given to two beneficiaries and battery spares were given to 9 beneficiaries.
Besides, on behalf of the Fisheries department, fish foods were distributed among seven fish farmers.
Under the Animal Resources Development department, 10 ducks were given to 46 beneficiaries each, under the Labour department, two workers were given cards (Nirman Shramik Prakalpa) and four workers were given financial assistance.
94 micro traders belonging to SC community were given assistance of Rs. 10000 each. Under the Social Welfare and Social Education department, appliances for Divyangs were also distributed in the programme.
District Magistrate, West Tripura- Debapriya Bardhan, BDO Jirania Anurag Sen, chairperson of Jirania Panchayat Samity Manju Das, vice-chairperson Pritam Debnath, SDM Jirania Jibankrishna Acharjee, chairperson of Jirania Nagar Panchayat Ratan Kumar Das and social activist Gouranga Bhowmik were present in the programme.
