Agartala, Nov 22: Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a meeting on ‘Neshamukt Tripura’ campaign at the conference hall of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Tuesday.

In the meeting, Chowdhury laid stress on intensifying the campaign against drugs and raising awareness among the youths in all 51 wards under the AMC.

He said, the present state government is committed to make Tripura free of drugs and frequent raids against drugs are going in various parts of the state. 

The police administration is taking action against the drug dealers and initiatives have also been taken to keep the youth away from drugs through ‘Khelo Tripura, Susto Tripura’ programme. He sought cooperation from all in this regard.

The Youth Affairs and Sports minister also called for collective efforts by various clubs, NGOs and public representatives to end the drug menace.

Mayor Dipak Majumder, MLA Rebati Mohan Das, MLA Dilip Kumar Das, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, AMC Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Director of Sports department- Subikash Debbarma and corporators from various wards were present in the meeting.
