Agartala/ Udaipur Sep 11: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha recalled Swami Vivekananda’s 1893 Chicago speech at the World’s Parliament of Religion and said Swamiji introduced the tradition and glory of Sanatan Dharma to the world.
“Swami Vivekananda is a symbol of peace. If one wants to be successful in life, he has to know about Vivekananda. It was Swamiji who introduced the heritage and magnificence of Sanatan Dharma to the West”, Dr Saha said while speaking at a programme held to commemorate Swamiji’s epoch speech on September 11, 1893 at Chicago.
The programme was held at Udaipur Ramesh Higher Secondary School. A blood donation camp was also held today as part of the programme.
Among others, MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik, vice principal of Agartala Vivekananda Ram Krishna Buddhirupananda Maharaj, DM of Gomati district GM Ratilal and Sabhadhipati of Gomati Zila Parishad Swapan Adhikari were present.
The Chief Minister also said, Swamiji’s 1893 speech is still relevant. The speech aptly presented a glimpse of Indian culture, custom and ethos.
Hailing the role of the school, he assured that a modern infrastructure would be built up in the school in the coming days.
MoS Pratima Bhowmik, in her speech, said as Swami Vivekananada introduced the Sanatan Dharma to the world it is pertinent to know about Swamiji to acquire knowledge about Sanatan Dharma. She said that the Chicago speech of Swami Vivekananda had been relayed in around 157 countries.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, guided by the philosophy and ideals, is working hard to take the country ahead. The philosophy of Vivekananda is the prime driving force in nation-building. Effective and proper implementation of the ideals of Vivekananda will lead the country to emerge self-reliant”, the MoS said. She added, Ramesh School is playing a crucial role in building the country.
Bhowmik further said, “Ramesh School has a undeniable role in producing successful persons for nation building.
