The founder of Fueler, an online career platform, Debnath delivered a talk titled “3 Frameworks to Build Startups from Anywhere” on February 9 last, offering valuable insights to aspiring entrepreneurs. His speech struck a chord with students, especially those from non-metro cities, who often face challenges in accessing resources and networks.
Debnath shared his struggles growing up in Agartala, a small town in the North-East, where opportunities were limited. Despite these hurdles, he turned to digital tools and community-driven strategies to create Fueler, a digital startup which now helps thousands of individuals showcase their skills and monetize their expertise.
From self-learning entrepreneurship through books and the internet to overcoming rejections— Debnath's success story resonated deeply with the audience.
He emphasized that in today’s digitally connected world, location is no longer a barrier to achieve success. His mantra, “Start where you are, use what you have,” became a key takeaway for attendees.
TEDx IIT Guwahati, part of the global TEDx initiative, brought together innovative minds to share their ideas and inspire others.
In this event, Debnath’s journey reflected how digital innovation can transform small-town aspirations into global success stories.
Launched in 2021, Fueler emphasizes a proof-of-work approach, allowing users to apply for job opportunities based on their actual work rather than traditional resumes.
The platform implements a unique hiring-based assignment methodology, enabling companies to evaluate candidates through real-world tasks that reflect their skills and capabilities.
The youth, who hails from Agartala in Northeast India, said he has a background in Computer Science and extensive experience in product consultation, working and having collaborated with over 70 brands from India and globally. Besides, the start-up has already earned recognitions from various prestigious platforms.
