Ampi, Nov 14: The Tripura Motha Party (TMP) of Ampi Nagar block submitted a memorandum to the Block Development Officer (BDO) with a three-point charter of demands on Thursday. A large group of TMP supporters, including men, women, and young activists, gathered in Ampi Nagar and marched from the Ampi Forest Range office to the Ampi block headquarters, raising slogans in support of their cause.
The rally saw participation from key TMP leaders such as Ampi MLA, Pathanlal Jamatia, TMP Ampi block president, Sanjay Jamatia, former block president, Subhash Debbarma, former sub-zonal chairman, Deb Sadhan Jamatia, and Tribal Welfare Federation President, Kalija Kalai.
The main demands include the immediate implementation of the Tiprasa Accord, the immediate conduct of Village Committee elections in the Autonomous District Council areas, and the urgent passage of the 125th amendment to the Indian Constitution.
The demonstrators emphasized the need for swift action on these long-standing issues, highlighting the importance of these demands for the indigenous communities in the region. The TMP leadership expressed their determination to continue pushing for these demands until they are addressed by the authorities.
