Dharmanagar May 30: Housewife in North Tripura’s Dharmanagar allegedly hacked her husband to death after losing the last bit of patience.

According to reports, the woman was tired of her husband’s drunken behavior and the same prompted her to hit him with a sharp machete on Monday night.

According to details from sources, Raju Gour, a resident of North Gournagar area under Dharmanagar police station used to beat up his wife regularly in an intoxicated condition.

Victim’s wife, Maya Gour confessed the allegations of hitting her husband in front of police.

She said, “My husband is a daily labourer and everyday he beats me up after having alcohol throughout the day. Monday evening too, he came home drunken and started abusing me. That point the barrier of my patience broke”.

Raju received multiple injuries with the machete on his head, neck and shoulder.

Having received information from the locals, police of Dharmanagar police station rescued Raju and transported him to Dharmanagar district hospital from where the doctors referred him to GB Hospital, Agartala owing to his critical condition.

However, till the time of writing the report, Maya Gour was not detained formally.
