Agartala Nov 14: Hundreds of people from all parts of the state joined Tripnamool Congress’s rally in the heart of capital city on Monday.
The ruling BJP was denounced by the TMC leaders for its alleged failure to control gender-based crimes, law and order situation adding that Tripura is in the second position in terms of crime against women in the Northeast.
West Bengal TMC MP Mahua Moitra took a jibe over the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party for its alleged inability and failure that compelled it to change the chief minister of the state before completing its first term.
“The failure of the party is proved as it had to change the chief minister before completing 5 years in the state of Tripura”, she said.
“We are here to let the people of Tripura know that Mmata Banerjee is the only alternative that can give them good governance”, Moitra added.
Answering to the questions of the reporters, TMC MP Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said, “Tripura is still lagging behind in every term although it ousted the CPI-M government with a hope of development and better days”.
Dastidar further slammed the ruling BJP over its unfulfilled and fake promises enlisted in the 2018 Vision Document.
“People must support Mamata Banerjee led TMC to oust the BJP from power”, she added.
Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Susmita Dev, TMC MP Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, TMC MP Mahua Moitra, TMC Tripura in-charge Rajib Banerjee along with other TMC leaders in the state took part in the march Pradesh march from Gandhi Ghat to Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
Later, a public address was also organized at the endpoint.
Addressing the public gathering at Rabindra Satavarshiki Bhavan TMC MP Dr Kakali Ghosh Dastidar criticized the BJP and said that the “Harmad forces” will leave only if the Trinamool candidates win in the 2023 assembly elections.
Meanwhile TMC MP Mahua Moitra highlighted the Trinamool government's ration scheme, Lakshmi Bhandar, Swasthya Saathi and other projects in West Bengal and told how people are getting benefits from it. She also criticized the Double Engine government over the rape incidents in the BJP-ruled states of Gujarat and Tripura.
