Agartala, Jan 31: Minister for Agriculture Ratanlal Nath on Wednesday laid stress on increasing the agri produce through organic farming and utilization of modern equipment.
After inaugurating a vegetable exhibition and competition organized by the office of Agri Superintendent, Tulashikhar at Bharat Sardarpara HS School ground on Wednesday, Nath also highlighted the state government’s goal of building ‘Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’ by connecting the 12 aspirational blocks with the mainstream of development.
Minister Nath highlighted the necessity of improving twelve backward blocks, including Tulashikhar, Damacharra, Dasda, Raishyabari, Mungiakami, Dumboornagar, Rupaichari, Shilachari, Ganganagar, Ompi, and Chawmanu, among others. In these blocks, he emphasized the importance of prioritizing the departments of education, health, agriculture, electricity, livestock, and fisheries.
Addressing the programme, the Agriculture minister highlighted the importance of cooperation from all political parties for an all-round development.
As part of the event, the local farmers were provided with power tillers, pump machines, and several other agricultural implements. Besides, five farmers were felicitated.
Leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma, executive member of TTAADC Ananta Debbarma, Tulashikar BAC chairman Pradip Debbarma along with other officials and representatives were present in the inaugural ceremony.
