Agartala Aug 19: The 114^th birth anniversary of the last king of the princely state and architect of modern Tripura, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur in a befitting manner amid various colourful programs across Tripura.

Tripura Pradesh BJP celebrated 114^th birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur with due dignity at Pradesh BJP Headquarters, Krishnanagar Agartala.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, BJP Organizational In-charge for Tripura, Phanindra Nath Sharma along with other leaders and karyakartas remained present at the program.

The Chief Minister and BJP State president Dr Manik Saha paid floral tribute to the portrait of Bir Bikram at the party headquarters.

Speaking to the reporters Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said the BJP will carry forward the development that was initiated by the great king Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur.

He added the state government had marked his birthday as a state holiday to make the date a significant one for Tripura for the last three years.

The Chief Minister later unveiled the statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur at Santirbazar in South Tripura District on Friday.
