Agartala, Aug 12: The Tripura council of ministers on Friday approved filling up of 200 posts of Pharmacists (Allopathy) under the Health and Family Welfare department, said Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury.
Briefing media on the cabinet decisions, Chowdhury said, “739 sanctioned posts of pharmacists (Allopathy) are there-- 238 are physically occupied and the remaining 501 posts are vacant. Now, the Finance department gave clearance for filling up of 200 posts.”
The ICA minister said, the cabinet gave approval for some changes in the Recruitment Rules for Pharmacist (Allopathy), Lab Technician and Ophthalmic Assistant under the Health and Family Welfare department. As per the revised Recruitment Rules, the Pharmacist Degree holders can also apply for these posts.
The council of ministers also decided to fill up of 35 posts-- six Sub-Inspectors, six Junior Store Keepers, three Fumigation Assistants and 20 Lower Division Clerks under the Food and Civil Supplies department, Chowdhury told the reporters.
The cabinet decisions also included, filling up of nine vacant posts of Sub-Inspectors under the Excise department; it would be a direct recruitment through Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), he said.
The cabinet also approved creation of 20 posts of Multitasking Staff (Group-D) under the Directorate of Audit, the ICA minister said.
Besides, the cabinet gave in-principle approval for creation of eight posts of Assistant Divisional Fire Officers under the Fire and Emergency Services department.
The cabinet also approved a proposal for creation of 147 technical posts under the PWD department. The posts included Draftsmen, Junior Draftsmen, Surveyor, Senior Surveyor and Overseer. These posts would be filled up through promotion.
He said, in the last cabinet meeting, a decision was taken to recruit 200 Junior Engineers for strengthening the Public Works Department.
