Agartala, Nov 30: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated multiple school infrastructure projects at South Tripura district.
The projects included new three-storey building of Barapathari HS School in Belonia, new building of Ajgar Rehmanpur High School at Rajnagar, a 30-seated ST Boys Hostel attached to Hrishyamukh HS School. He also inaugurated an Amrit Sarovar project.
In his interaction with the students of Barapathari HS School after the inauguration of the new school building, the Chief Minister said, along with studies the students should also involve themselves in extracurricular activities such as sports.
During this interactive session, the Chief Minister in his reply to little Tania Sarkar, a student of the school, beautifully described his journey to the position of the Chief Minister.
“Touched by the wonderful interaction with little Tania Sarkar, a student of Barpathari HS School. I always encourage the students to involve themselves with sports along with study. They have a major role to play to make the state achieve new milestones in every field,” the Chief Minister tweeted.
He said, the state government gave highest priority to expansion of quality education and development of infrastructure. He also elaborated various aspects of Vidyajyoti Schools.
In line with the goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for developing and rejuvenating the water bodies, the Chief Minister inaugurated Amrit Sarovar Project (Hrishyamukh Panchayat Samiti Pond) at Belonia in South Tripura.
The project on 1.76 acres land has the capacity to conserve water of up to 19000 cubic metres. He also planted a Neem sapling on the banks of the Sarovar and handed over the lease paper of the Sarovar to Ujjayina CLF.
MLA Sankar Roy, South Tripura District Magistrate Saju Wajid A., Superintendent of Police Ajit Pratap Singh, B.C. Nagar Panchayat Samiti chairperson Putul Pal Biswas, Hrishyamukh Panchayat Samiti chairperson Bakul Devi Debnath, social activist Ranjit Sarkar and District Education Officer Subir Majumdar were present in various programmes.
