Agartala, Aug 13: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has reached new heights, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Tuesday.
He said, the Tripura government is working towards advancing the state in line with the vision of the Prime Minister.
The government is focused on the overall development of Tripura by enhancing health, education, agriculture, and sports. This year, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is once again being observed with due respect, as a mark of respect to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The Chief Minister was speaking in the inauguration of 'Tiranga Yatra' at Umakanta ground in Agartala on Tuesday morning.
Dr. Saha stated that the country comes first and the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative aims to instill patriotic thinking among the people.
As part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, a Tiranga rally was organized, involving distinguished community members, government officials, students from schools and colleges, and people from various professions.
Similar programs are being held across the state. Dr. Saha expressed gratitude to the people of the state and the country for their participation. The campaign began in 2022.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that extensive discussions have taken place at various levels to ensure the success of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
Prior to 2022, national flags were raised, but Prime Minister Modi urged that every home should display the national flag. In response, the Tripura government took appropriate measures.
According to 2022 statistics, there are 8,50,000 households in Tripura. The government has taken steps to produce flags of various sizes accordingly.
The people of Tripura have responded to the Prime Minister’s call, successfully participating in the campaign.
The Prime Minister's emotional connection to the soil of the country is unprecedented. In line with this, soil was collected from various parts of the state and sent to Delhi. Such patriotic initiatives are unique.
Notable guests at the event included Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumdar, eminent social worker Rajib Bhattacharjee, Secretary to Information and Cultural Affairs department Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, and other senior officials.
After the inauguration, the Chief Minister and other guests participated in a vibrant flag march through the city, involving students, teachers, clubs, social organizations, and community representatives.
