Agartala, Sept 03: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha launched a special fortnight health drive-Mukhyamantri Sushto Shaosob Sushto Kaishor Abhiyan (MSSSKA) 3.0 at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhana in Agartala on Saturday.
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this campaign will continue from September 5 to 15 next.
The campaign will be held in various educational institutions- schools, colleges, Anganwadi Centres, and technical institutions from September 5 to 7 and then the Anganwadi and ASHA worker will visit door to door to implement the programmes.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said, both the central and the state governments are working together to ensure healthcare to every citizen of the state.
He said, there is a need to give importance to physical and mental development of the children and adolescents. Dr. Saha also stressed on keeping the children and adolescents away from the use of drugs.
De-worming programme, Vitamin-A supplementation, Iron Folic Acid supplementation, Integrated Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF), Poshan Abhiyan, routine dose of TD10/TD16 (Tetanus and Diphtheria) vaccination, and public awareness on pneumonia symptoms have been brought under the MSSSKA 3.0 campaign.
Under this programme, 10.91 lakh target population (1-19 years) will be administered de-worming tablets, 11.10 lakh target population (up to 19 years) would be given Iron Folic Acid tablets, 3.71 lakh target population (0-5 years) would be given ORS and Zinc tablets to control diarrhoea, routine doses of TD-10 and TD-16 would be given to 75,740 children (10 years) and 79,800 children (16 years) respectively, and ARI of the children in 0-5 years age would be screened for pneumonia.
Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director of Social Welfare and Social Education Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal and Director of School Education department Chandni Chandran also spoke on the occasion.
The welcome address was delivered by Director of National Health Mission Subhashish Das and the vote of thanks was delivered by Director of Health department Dr. Subhashish Debbarma. State Immunization officer Dr. Mousumi Sarkar was also present.
