Agartala, June 27: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and three other central ministers in the national capital on Thursday.
Along with the Prime Minister, Dr. Saha also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah and Minister for Health and BJP national president J.P. Nadda.
In his meeting with the Prime Minister at the new parliament building, the Chief Minister conveyed greetings for his third consecutive term as Pradhan Sevak of the country. He also discussed various issues related to the state’s development, in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
“Delighted to meet with Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Narendra Modi Ji at the New Parliament House, New Delhi. I also conveyed the enthusiasm of sisters & brothers of #Tripura for Modi 3.0. We also discussed various developmental issues in order to fulfill our commitment of #ViksitBharat,” the Chief Minister wrote on X.
An official press release said, during the meeting with PM Modi, Dr Saha has requested for new railway link from Belonia in Tripura to Feni in Bangladesh, Indo-Bangladesh connectivity via Maitri Bridge, Construction of 15 new Ekalavya Model Residential Schools, Conversation of single line to double line track, declaring MBB airport as International airport, Establishment of Agar International Trade and Research Centre at Agartala, Pending Negotiations with the Department of Economic Affairs for the World Bank assisted Element, to solve issue pending with LPAI, removing embargo on the export of value-added product to Bangladesh, inclusion Sabroom-Ramgarh-Chittagong and Sabroom-Ramgarh-Mongla route as the protocol route for transit and trans-shipment.
Dr Saha also requested for purchase gas from GAIL at a lower price, increase in Central Finance Commission Grants.
In his meeting with the three central ministers- Singh, Shah and Nadda, Dr. Saha congratulated them on behalf of the people of Tripura and discussed several important topics for the state’s development.
In the meeting with Defence Minister, the Chief Minister asked for GREF land to be transferred to the State and establishment of Sainik School at Assam Rifles Land at Teliamura and Udaipur.
in his meeting with the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, the Chief Minister requested for AIIMS like institute, Medical College at Kulai under Dhalai District, one-time special grant to continue uninterrupted National Ambulance Services and extend the Regional Geriatric Centre Project.
During the meeting with Shah, Dr Saha has requested the Union Home Minister for sanctioning of two more IR battalions, releasing funds under Security Related Expenditure, releasing funds for purchasing various items for seizures and sampling storage and disposal of NDPS.
During his visit to Delhi, the Chief Minister also called on the Governor of Tripura Indra Sena Reddy Nallu and also met Padma Shri Chitta Maharaj of ‘Shantikali Ashram at Tripura Bhavan.
