Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday encouraged the students to involve themselves in creative activities besides academic studies.

Addressing the students after inaugurating a Library of Ambedkar College and 50-bedded ST Girls Hostel at Fatikroy in Unakoti district, the Chief Minister said, learning is an endless process and the present state government has given importance to impart quality education. The students also need to involve themselves in creative activities besides academic studies, he said.

Sabhadhipati of Unakoti Zilla Parishad Amalendu Das, MLA Sudhanshu Das and Principal of Ambedkar College Subrata Sharma were present in the inaugural programme. 

The college library has been built at the cost of Rs. 38.90 lakh and the Girls Hostel has been constructed at the cost of Rs. 1.88 crore. District Magistrate and Collector Dr. Vishal Kumar and Superintendent of Police, Unakoti- Kanta Jangir were also present in the programme.

Addressing another programme at Pecharthal HS School, the Chief Minister said, the state government is working to fulfil the basic needs of the people. 

He virtually laid the foundation stone of 5 schemes and inaugurated 50-bedded ST girls hostel in the programme.

The Chief Minister said, the government is committed to deliver government services and facilities to the people in a transparent manner. The government has taken the initiative to create job opportunities with transparency. 

The Chief Minister also said, a section is trying to disturb the peaceful environment of the state while the state government is working to protect the democratic rights of the people.

Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education Santana Chakma, chairman of Pecharthal Block Advisory Committee Sajal Chakma, MDC Bimal Kanti Chakma, MDC Swapna Rani Das and social activist Pabitra Debnath among others were present.

Apart from the ST girls hostel, a modern ground and two-storied building of Pecharthal HS School, PHC were inaugurated and foundation stone of Andharcherra to Budha Jharna Road and Solonala to Baghaichara road was laid.

During his visit Unakoti district, the Chief Minister also inaugurated Shantipur PHC a Samabay Super Market.
