Agartala, Aug 6: Taking a dig at the opposition's ‘I.N.D.I.A’ concept, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday said that the name itself reflects a division dots are there after each letter in the name and proves that winning Lok Sabha election is next to impossible for them.
Dr Saha further said that the BJP in Tripura is well-prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha election and is confident that the party would not only secure victory in both parliamentary seats but also surpass the impressive mandate achieved in the 2019 elections.
“By-elections are likely to be announced anytime in two assembly constituencies in the state and the BJP is ready for it; our candidate will surely win in both seats,” said Dr. Saha while addressing an event organized by Tripura BJP at Nazrul Kalashetra in Agartala.
The event was organized to felicitate newly-appointed General Secretary (Organization) of BJP Tripura and Assam Pradesh- GR Ravindra Raju and outgoing General Secretary (Organization) Phanindranath Sarma.
Speaking in the programme, the Chief Minister said that the Tripura Pradesh leadership has learned a lot from the former Sarma, who worked for the party in the state since 2017 and contributed to the BJP’s victory.
He expressed confidence that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP would win both the seats surpassing the mandate achieved in the 2019 elections. He said, even if CPIM and Congress united, there would be no benefit for them.
“At the national level, they have united under the name I.N.D.I.A. But they have used full stops in the concept which itself indicates that they themselves are divided, so how can they win together. Many of them even speak against the country,” said Dr. Saha.
Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, BJP Tripura president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other state leaders were present in the felicitation programme.
