Agartala, Sept 02: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday emphasized on increasing the export of the state's products for economic growth.
Speaking at the inauguration of Udyogi Bhavan at Bodhjungnagar industrial complex, he said, any state or country cannot make economic progress without increasing export.
Dr. Saha said, “the Bangladesh government put a ban on exporting few items to the country. As we import various products from Bangladesh, we should have the right to export the products which are not available in that country. Though it’s a matter of the two countries, I will discuss the issue.”
Taking a jibe at previous Left front government, he said, “earlier there was a trend of destroying industries in the name of protests. But, we didn’t see that culture in the state after 2018. Now, the present state government is solving the problems before any protest.”
He also commented, the future of Tripura is very bright since the state now got everything needed for setting up industries.
“A development-friendly environment is visible everywhere in the country; Prime Minister Narendra Modi means development,” he said adding that the Modi-led government is working with a special focus on development of the North East region.
Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty, chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Tinku Roy, Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner in Agartala Arif Mohammad, chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Santosh Saha and others were present in the programme organized by Tripura Industry Owners’ Association.
As part of the foundation celebration, the organizers conducted a voluntary blood donation camp.
