Agartala, April 08: Along with the rest of the nation, the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) took to the streets of Agartala on Saturday to protest against the ‘undemocratic’ disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha MP.
The state congress president Birjit Sinha, party leader Ashish Saha and others led the protest here at Agartala on Saturday.
“Undemocratic disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha MP is an act by the Modi-led government at the Centre to distract the nation from the Adani issue, raised by Rahul Gandhi ji,” said Congress leader Ashish Kumar Saha.
He opined, “Freedom of speech is being curbed in India and as part of this Rahul Gandhi was restricted from putting his point in the parliament with his disqualification.”
On the other hand, the PCC President Birjit Sinha alleged that the Modi government at the centre had hatched a political conspiracy against Rahul Gandhi and accordingly the government disqualified him as Lok Sabha MP. “We are here to join the national level Satyagraha being organised by the Congress party,” he said.
