Tripura Dy CM lays foundation stone of multiple ADB-funded projects

Agartala, Jan 14: Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma laid foundation stones of various Asian Development Bank-funded projects in virtual mode on Saturday.
Besides, he also launched the State Transmission Utility in Tripura project and inaugurated 132-KV Dhalabil sub-station (augmentation) during the programme held at Prajna Bhavan in Agartala.
Dev Varma said, the state government is working to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Development of infrastructure is required for interrupted power supply. There is a requirement of huge funds for this purpose. But, the state government is working for the development of power infrastructures without collecting any additional money from the consumers, he said.
According to Dev Varma, who holds the Power portfolio, funds are being arranged from the Asian development Bank, World Bank and North Eastern Council for implementation of various projects.
The Deputy Chief Minister also released a booklet- ‘Lighting Up Lives’ on the achievements of Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) over the past five years.
Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Secretary of Power department Brijesh Pandey and Managing Director of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) Debashis Sarkar were also present in the programme.
