Agartala/Dharmanagar Feb 22: A bike rally was held in the state capital on Thursday under the initiative of Tripura Fair Price Shop Management Association to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led government in the Centre for various steps taken towards welfare of common people, especially those belonging to economically weaker sections.
Speaking to the reporters, Corporator Goutam Chanda said, “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured food security for the people across the nation. People now do not have to protest for food and basic amenities. A number of schemes have been launched for the overall welfare of common masses and the central and state government is also working to make sure that all the benefits reach to the last person in the queue”.
Chanda added, “Since Covid, around 80 crore people across India are given 5kg rice per head through fair price shops every month. Besides, in the months of February and March families are given 5kg rice at a cost of Rs 13 through the ration shops. These steps have ensured food security for the people”, he said.
Apart from these, chief minister Dr Manik Saha who also holds the health portfolio has provided guaranteed health service to the people.
“The chief minister Jan Arogya Yojana (CM-JAY), will provide coverage of Rs 5 lakh families in Tripura. Besides, 5 lakh families are already enjoying the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme”, he said.
The rally thanked the state government and the chief minister for launching schemes that are directly benefiting the people in need.
Apart from this, the BJP leadership also urged the common people to vote for the party in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls to make sure that the pace of development continues.
Our Dharmanagar Correspondent adds: A rally was held on Thursday by the Fair Price Shop Management Committee, Dharmanagar subdivision to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
The rally also thanked Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen as a branch of Cachar Cancer Hospital will be set up in Dharmanagar for the convenience of cancer patients in North, Unakoti and Dhalai districts.
