Tripura gets two Panchayat awards

Agartala, Apr 08: In an instance of good governance in rural areas, Tripura has bagged two national awards in Panchayati Raj.
In a social media post, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha mentioned, Kumarghat Block Advisory Committee has been awarded the prestigious “Nanaji Deshmukh Sarbottama Panchayat Satata Vikash Puraskar '' with a cash incentive of Rs. 1.50 crore.
The Bagmara Village Committee under Rupaichari Block has been awarded the “Carbon Neutral Vishes Panchayat Puraskar”.
President of India Droupadi Murmu will present the awards in New Delhi on the occasion of National Panchayat Raj Day (April 24).
According to Dr. Saha, these awards are the signs of the commitment of the state government for the development of the people. He also congratulated the Panchayat department as well as the Panchayat representatives at all levels for this achievement.
Meanwhile, Tripura has been awarded at the national level for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana during the tenure of present Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
