Agartala/ Ambassa, Nov 08, 2022, TRIPURATIMES Desk
Ambassa/ Agartala, Nov 08: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said the state government would soon reach out to the people with a report card on the development activities.
Dr. Saha drew a comparison between the Left regime and the four and half years tenure of the present government and said the people during the 35-year rule of the left front witnessed development only in speech, not in works.
The way the BJP-IPFT government has been working for development of the state since 2018 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of Tripura never saw it earlier, the Chief Minister said.
He said, the previous government was expert only in delivering words. But the present state government doesn’t believe in talks as development in true sense is the only goal.
Dr. Saha was addressing a programme at Ambassa Town Hall in Dhalai district where he virtually inaugurated three development projects.
The projects are- Tertiary Waste Management Plant at Sudhanshu Ghosh Para, Bailey Bridge at Betbagan area and one 1000-MT rice go-down at Lalchari.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said, the opposition parties are campaigning that there is no rule of law in the state whereas police are taking immediate action in case of any incident and arresting the accused persons.
“We will give away the report card on development to the people within the next few days,” Dr. Saha said while countering the opposition’s claims.
Minister for Food Manoj Kanti Deb, MLA Parimal Debbarma, chairman of Ambassa municipal council Mamata Das, Urban Development secretary Tamal Majumder, District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Dhalai district were present in the inaugural programme.
As part of his visit to Dhalai district, the Chief Minister then chaired a review meeting at Jawharnagar. In the meeting, he reviewed the implementation status of various central and state schemes. He also passed an instruction to the officials concerned for timely completion of the on-going works.
The Chief Minister also visited the house of BJP’s Shakti Kendra in-charge Pritosh Das, who was killed by the miscreants, at Dabbari area under Kachucherra police station. On behalf of BJP, he handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh to the victim’s family.
Earlier, the Chief Minister, who travelled to Ambassa from Agartala by train, was given a warm reception by the party karyakartas.
