Amarpur March 02: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Saturday embarked on a one-day visit to Amarpur with an aim to inspect the progress of various development projects undertaken by the central and state government.
He was accorded a warm welcome at Rajkang village under Amarpur RD Block of Gomati district by MLA Ranjit Das, BDO Utpal Das among others.
The Governor took note of the official documents and computers at the Block office and then visited the Anganwadi Centre and Primary Hospital.
Later, he also met the locals of Rajkang Village and inquired if all necessary facilities like cooking gas from Ujjwala Yojana, Pucca house under PMAY scheme among others are available to them.
The Governor also paid a visit to the Mokraibari JB School. He held talks with the teachers, students and also checked the attendance register. Besides, Nallu also took a look at the mid-day meal kitchen and tasted the khichdi (hotchpotch) prepared for the students.
From there he went to Nam Para under Rajkang Village, and visited the fish farming pond, Amritsagar, spread over an area of about 15 acres, and spoke to the owners of the pond and inquired about getting support for fish farming from the Fisheries Department.
On his way back from there, the Governor visited Biswaram Reang's house in the area, and along with the family members, discussed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme.
Speaking to the reporters about his visit, the Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said, “My visit was aimed at assessing the ground reality and providing necessary guidance to support the concerned authorities so that the central and state government benefits, schemes and facilities reach the last man in the queue”.
He also said that those associated with fish farming in Amritsagar are lacking behind in advanced farming methods and technologies.
He hoped that these fish farmers will see more profit in the future if they cultivate fish with the advice and training from the Department of Fisheries.
During his visit, the Governor was accompanied by Gomati District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, District Police Superintendent Namit Pathak, Amarpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate Amaresh Barman and other line department officials of the sub-division.
