Agartala, March 06: The Tripura Journalists Union (TJU) on Thursday announced to observe the International Women’s Day on March 8 next here at Agartala Press Club through a series of programmes.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Press Club on Thursday, women journalist Seshadri Dasgupta said that for the first time in the state of Tripura, at least 60 women journalists of the state shall be felicitated with ‘Ananya Sangbad Yodhya Sanmanana 2025’ on March 8.

She said that the state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury will inaugurate the programme here at Agartala Press Club on March 8 next. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and also the MLA Dipak Majumder, Additional SP of the state Traffic Department Sudambika R and others will remain present in the programme. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu is invited to grace the occasion, she told reporters.

She further said that apart from honouring 60 women journalists of the state on March 8 next, the Tripura Journalists Union will also honor journalist Reshmi Debnath with Saktirupa award for her immense contribution in the field of media.
