Kumarghat, Nov 18: The Leader of Opposition and the CPI(M state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury on Monday slammed the ruling BJP here in the state and at the Centre and alleged that the state is reeling under an uneven situation. He alleged that the BJP has ruined the state atmosphere of the state of Tripura, where people are struggling.
Addressing a party gathering here at Pabiacherra bazar on Monday, Chaudhury alleged that the 10 years rule of the BJP government at the Centre has snatched the rights of the farmers and the working class people.
On the issue of the Centre’s proposal of ‘One Nation One Election’, Chaudhury alleged that the government at the Centre is an attempt to weaken the constitution of India and strengthen the hands of the capitalists.
He categorically attacked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Manipur violence and said, “At a time when the state of Manipur in North East India is burning with violence and clashes, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy travelling abroad and he refrained himself from speaking out on the Manipur issue.”
On the other hand, Jiten slammed the ruling BJP in Tripura and said that the party has been instigating communal tension in the state, following which multiple incidents already took place in the state in the recent past. He alleged, “This government had failed to tackle the burning issues in the state including growing unemployment rate, rising crimes against women, killings and others.”
The CPI(M) Kumarghat subdivisional committee on Monday pressed for a 4-point charter of demands with the government and took out a rally here at Kumarghat, which was followed by a party gathering.
