TSR played key role in eliminating militancy from Tripura: DGP; 29th foundation day TSR 3rd Bn. celebrated

Ambassa, April 01: 29th foundation day of the TSR 3rd battalion was observed through vibrant programmes herein its headquarter at Kachucherran in Dhalai district of the state on Tuesday.
The Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan had inaugurated the programme and hailed the role of TSR jawans in the state. He said TSR played a significant role in eliminating militancy from Tripura.
IGP TSR Kerry Marak, DIG Northern Range Rati Ranjan Debnath, Commandant Binay Kishore Debbarma, Superintendent of Police Mihir Lal Das and senior officers of the state police and TSR were present in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the DGP said that there was a time when the state of Tripura was covered by the dark cloud of terrorists. This state is free from terrorism today because of the blood shed by the common masses and TSR jawans of the state.
Paying tribute to the brave martyred jawans, he said, “Their sacrifice of life will be remembered forever on the soil of Tripura. In this state, TSR jawans have been successful in eliminating extremism by fighting against various adverse conditions. As a result of their struggle, peace has been established in Tripura today.”
“ Today our state has reached the 3rd Lowest Crime Rate in the country due to the persistence of police TSR jawans,” he added.
A voluntary blood donation camp was organised to mark the occasion, with 101 jawans of the TSR 3rd battalion stepping forward to donate blood to support critical patients. The event also featured community welfare initiatives such as distributing blankets to the needy and providing sports equipment to local youth. A photo exhibition, alongside stalls showcasing products crafted by the jawans, added an engaging touch, while a weapons display attracted significant attention. The program also honored the families of martyred jawans.
