Two Indian Touts arrested for assisting illegal entry of Bangladeshi Nationals

Agartala Oct 17: In a joint operation, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) along with police personnel from Sonamura Police Station apprehended two Indian touts, accused of facilitating illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals through the Tripura borders for a long time.
Based on information from secret sources, the accused persons were detained from Motinagar Gilamura area with assistance from the BSF jawans, said Tapas Das, OC Agartala GRPS.
Providing the details to the reporters, OC Tapas Das said, “For a long time we were in search of both the accused. Earlier too, we raided their residences but could not trace them. Finally, after receiving information from specific sources, we succeeded in detaining both Shahidul Islam and Yunus Mia, responsible for facilitating the entry of Bangladeshi expatriates into the state and assisting their travel to other parts of India through Agartala railway station”.
“For further investigation, we are producing them before the Court seeking police remand”, he added.
Authorities however believe that this arrest could lead to further apprehensions of human traffickers operating in the region.
