Agartala, Nov 14: The 4^th state-level Janjatiya Gaurav Divas to be observed through a series of programmes here at Agartala on Friday to remember the contribution of tribal freedom fighters and mark the 150^th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of DM office on Thursday, the District Magistrate of the West Tripura district Dr Vishal Kumar said that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the main event here at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in presence of the Union Minister of North East Development Jyotirmoy Scindia, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma and others.

The observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas will kick off from Friday morning with a procession rally from Agartala Swami Vivekananda Maidan to Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, the DM said, adding that the state-level function will be held at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan followed by a cultural programme. The event will mark the launch of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) in the state.

He said that on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the main event will be centrally held at Jamui in Bihar, where the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch and lay the foundation stone of various projects for the welfare of the people.
