Teliamura, Mar 29: A severe drinking water crisis has hit the remote areas of Mungiakami Block under the Krishnapur constituency, with locals struggling for potable water. Despite repeated media reports, the administration and DWS department reportedly remained inactive. However, the Tipra Youth Federation (TYF) has stepped in to provide relief.

It was learnt that the residents of Hazra Para in Kakracherra ADC village have been facing acute water shortages for a long time, due to which they are now relying on a single ring well.

The locals alleged that the quality of water supplied by DWS is poor and often has to be purchased.

TYF leaders, led by Krishnapur unit president Mahendra Debbarma, distributed drinking water to the affected families and assured continued efforts to resolve the crisis. They also urged the administration to take immediate action.
