This movement comes in response to the alarming rise in cases of rape, murder, and torture against women and children—a grim reality that continues to plague society, said State Women’s Congress president Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty.
The protest rally began from the Swami Vivekananda stadium and culminated at the Congress Bhavan premises.
The event was graced by the presence of prominent leaders, including Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha, Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty, Sadar District Mahila Congress president Rupa Roy Das among others.
Addressing the media, Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha emphasized the dire need for action.
