Agartala Oct 09: In a historic first, The Ramnagar Mukti Sangh’s ‘pet-friendly’ Durga Puja Pandal is winning hearts as the organizers came up with a unique theme named, ‘Ichhe Dana’, emphasizing the revival of the natural environment through innovative pandal decorations.

Puja committee members extended warm invitation to the community, including pet owners to join this year’s Sharodutsav.

The organizers while talking to Tripura Times said, “The theme of this year’s pandal is to encourage every individual to foster an environment where animals and birds can roam freely”.

The mandap decorations reflect this vision, showcasing the importance of biological diversity in maintaining the balance of the living world and highlighting the crucial role animals and birds play in human life.

In collaboration with a non-governmental organization PAWSOME that works for animal welfare in the state, Mukti Sangh has made special arrangements for visitors to bring their pets to the puja mandap.

“From 1-5 pm, from the day of Shasthi, pet owners are welcome to enjoy the festivities alongside their beloved animals, ensuring that no household pet is deprived of the joy of the celebrations”, said the puja organizers.

Members of PAWSOME said, “From variety of treats, selfie corners to makeshift water stations, this pet-friendly puja is all set to welcome furry-pandal hoppers and share festivities with them”.

“Throughout the year we ensure the well-being of our furry companions and hence, we have formed this pet-friendly puja committee to make them a part of the prime festival of our state”, said Wrighbed Dutta, founder member of PAWSOME NGO.

He also informed that volunteers from the NGO will be present to assist pet parents, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.

The club and Pawsome members invite everyone to visit the Puja Mandap, bring their pets, and immerse themselves in the spirit of the puja while contributing to the protection of the natural environment.
