Agartala Aug 19: Maharaja Bir Bikram Welfare Society, Agartala celebrated the 114^th birth anniversary of Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur with pomp and grandeur.

The program was organized in front of Ujjayanta Palacae, in the capital city.

Garlanding the statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, a cake was also cut on his Birthday.

Talking to the reporters, Princess Pragya Dev Varman said, “When we tied to celebrate the 100^th birth anniversary of Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, nobody gave any importance to the great visionary king and architect of modern Tripura”.

“Despite all odds in the past century, Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur always tried to work for the welfare and development of the people of Tripura and tried keep the people united”, added Pragya Dev Varman.

She further added that after a lot of struggle the state government has finally realized the importance of this day and has declared it to be a holiday.

Later, a colourful rally traversed various routes of the capital city on the occasion of 114^th birth anniversary of Maharaja BIr Bikram Kishore Manikya.
