Teliamura, Jan 11: Police detained four Bangladeshi Muslim youths and one local tout at Trishabari Railway Station in Teliamura on Friday night. The arrested Bangladeshis were identified as Moin Uddin (39), Rahan Mia (19), Rimon Ahmed (22), and Suman Mia (22). The Indian national was Amir Uddin (48), a resident of Dharmanagar.  

According to the Teliamura police, the arrests were made based on a tip-off. The individuals were apprehended while waiting at Trishabari Railway Station, reportedly intending to travel to Dharmanagar. Police seized four mobile phones and cash in both Bangladeshi and Indian currency from the accused.  

Preliminary investigations revealed that Amir Uddin assisted the four Bangladeshi youths in illegally entering India. The police registered a case and presented the accused in Khowai Court on Saturday, seeking a three-day police remand.
