Agartala, Oct 05: In a move addressing the long-standing request from the journalists, the Tripura government has allocated Rs. 78 lakh for installation of a lift at the Agartala Press Club.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha during a media interaction on Saturday.

He highlighted that the decision was made to improve accessibility at the Press Club, acknowledging the challenges faced by many individuals due to the absence of a lift.

Dr. Saha said, there has been a persistent demand for this facility at the Agartala Press Club. He said, today he approved the necessary funds, and work would begin shortly. 

He said, the decision was part our the present state government’s broader efforts to support the welfare of the media community.

The announcement has brought cheers among the club's members. 

Agartala Press Club Secretary, Ramakanta Dey, has expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and the state government, emphasizing the positive impact this development would have on the functioning of the club.
