Agartala, Dec 21: Making a scathing attack on the ruling BJP-led government at the Centre and its North Eastern Council Plenary meeting, the Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury on Saturday said that the NEC is supposed to discuss the critical gaps and infrastructure of the North East region of the country, but now the NEC is playing a role of hosting Promo fest like events and others.
Interacting with the reporters on Saturday morning, Chaudhury said, “Nesha Mukt Kendras are being set up with the fund of the NEC, whereas, the NEC fund is supposed to be utilized for developing critical infrastructures.”
Regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Tripura, Chaudhury said, “Not NEC, but Amit Shah has come here to restore normalcy in the party, which has gone shaky. Amit Shah has come to do the wielding of the party.”
