Agartala July 28: With an aim to maintain the broadness of city roads, so that traffic congestion can be kept under control, Agartala Municipal Corporation on Friday bulldozed several illegal roadside encroachments from Barjala market to Durga Chowmani area.

Speaking in this context Mayor Dipak Majumder said, “Notices were served to the parties regarding eviction, and after providing adequate time for the same, the illegal encroachments were bulldozed this morning”.

Meanwhile, continuing his Ward visits across the city, the Mayor said, “Earlier government worked for its own interests and for the party. there was lack of sincerity in work and no one cared about public welfare”.

Vowing towards overall development of the city dwellers and beautification of the capital, the Mayor said, “Starting from beautification of the city, AMC is working on a multi-faceted plan to develop various civic services and create new infrastructure”.

All of these have been possible because of the development oriented ruling government under the leadership of chief minister Dr Manik Saha, he added.

Visiting Ward No 32 under Agartala Municipal Corporation on Friday, the Mayor inspected various complaints raised by the locals and also directed the concerned officials to start the work at earliest.

Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, 8 Town Bordowali Mandal president Sanjay Saha, prominent social worker Ratan Saha and others accompanied the Mayor during the day’s visit.
