Amarpur, Jan 09: A joint initiative by the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura and the Karbook RD Block saw an anti-addiction rally and seminar held in Karbook Subdivision on Thursday.

Karbook Sub-Divisional Police Officer Gamonjoy Reang and renowned state physician Dr. Pradip Bhowmik addressed the gathering. Dr. Bhowmik discussed ways to overcome addiction and elaborated on its harmful effects. The seminar also featured speeches from Gomati District Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kamal Reang, Karbook Sub-Divisional Medical Officer Dr. Dhanmoni Tripura, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Shyamjoy Jamatia, and BDO Dibyendu Das.

The event began with a rally featuring school students and prominent figures from the region, raising awareness about the dangers of addiction. The rally traversed various routes in Karbook and culminated at the Panjiham HS School. Following this, a seminar on addiction awareness was held in the school’s conference hall.
