Agartala March 13: The Tripura Safai Karmi Sangha, affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, organized a procession in the city on Thursday to present a six-point demand, including regularization, to the Mayor, Agartala Municipal Corporation.
The procession began in front of Tulsibati School and traversed various streets of the city before reaching the municipal corporation, where the Sangha representatives handed over the demand certificate to Mayor Dipak Majumdar.
A Sangha leader stated that on March 7, the Sangha had decided to convey the six-point demands related to the interests of sanitation workers to the Agartala Municipal Corporation authorities. Consequently, the Sangha took out a procession on Thursday to meet the mayor.
He emphasized that despite sanitation workers serving for the past 25 years, no decision has been made on their regularization.
The Sangha's demands include regularizing the workers and providing them with facilities similar to those of other government employees.
