Agartala, Mar 11.BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Tuesday drew the attention of the Union Health Minister and urged the Ministry to approve the proposal for establishing a centrally funded super-speciality hospital like either AIIMS or NEIGRIHMS in Tripura.

Addressing the house during Zero Hour discussions, Bhattacharjee said, “I hail from a very small North Eastern state and I am overwhelmed with the attention my state Tripura has received after the BJP government was established in the Centre. Despite being a small state, we now have three medical colleges and a lot of efforts have been initiated to make sure that people get the best possible health care services in our state.”

Urging the Union Health Minister to give an approval for a centrally funded super speciality hospital, he said, “If we get approval from the Centre to set up a hospital like AIIMS or NEIGRIHMS in Tripura, it will be a big milestone for us.”  

Bhattacharjee in his short address lambasted the CPIM and Congress for ignoring the potentials of Tripura. “Tripura was governed by CPIM and Congress for a long period of time and that is considered to be the darkest period of state’s history,” he added.
