Woman dies, three injured in two devastating fires in Tripura

Belonia/ Agartala, Mar 11: A 48-year-old woman died and three others were injured in two separate fire incidents in Tripura during the last 24 hours.
A fire broke out at Santosh Sarkar’s house at South Kashari in Rajnagar on Monday night.
Sarkar, his wife Tulu Rani Sarkar and their son Mithun Sarkar sustained severe injuries in the incident.
The injured were first taken to Barpathari Primary Health Centre where the attending doctor referred them to Santirbazar district hospital.
Unfortunately, Tulu Rani Sarkar succumbed to her injuries at the District hospital on Tuesday morning.
It was learnt that the Sarkar and his son Mithun are undergoing treatment at GBP hospital in Agartala.
Meanwhile, even as firefighters from Rajnagar and Belonia rushed to the scene, but the house was completely gutted. Preliminary reports suggest an electrical short circuit as the cause.
In another fire incident at Sribastu Para in Lefunga, two houses were reduced to ashes.
One person sustained minor injuries, while two children had a narrow escape. Firefighters managed to control the flames, but valuables, including Rs 50 thousand in cash, were destroyed.
