Agartala, Mar 30: Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released the list of its star campaigners for the Lok Sabha elections to two seats of Tripura and by-polls to Ramnagar assembly constituencies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and several other central minister and bigwigs are among the star campaigners, who will campaign for the party in the state.

According to party sources, Shah is likely to arrive in the state on a two-day visit on April 7. The state unit of the party already started preparations for the arrival of Shah, who is expected to address an election rally, take part in a road show and hold meetings with party leaders.

While Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha already started campaigning for three candidates—Biplab Kumar Deb in West Tripura Lok Sabha seat and Kriti Singh Debbarma in East Tripura Lok Sabha seat and Dipak Majumder in for by-polls in Ramnagar assembly constituency, the proposed visits of the central leaders including Modi, Shah and Nadda are expected to further boost the BJP’s campaign in the state.

The West Tripura parliamentary constituency and Ramnagar assembly constituency will go to elections on April 19 and the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on April 26. The results will be declared on June 4.
