Agartala March 25: A vibrant procession was held in the state capital on Tuesday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the National Sample Survey (NSS), an institution that has been instrumental in shaping data-driven policymaking in India.
The event highlighted the pivotal role of the NSS in creating a robust database for various social and economic metrics, which aids both central and state governments in development planning and policy formulation.
The procession, starting from Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, traversed through the streets of Agartala, appealing to citizens to actively cooperate in the survey process.
NSS staff will soon begin door-to-door visits to collect household information, ensuring the confidentiality of the data provided. This initiative underscores the importance of public participation in building a comprehensive and reliable database for the nation's progress.
