Agartala, Feb 04: The opposition CPI(M) on Tuesday staged a rally to oppose the union budget presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the parliament on February 1 last and termed the budget as a ‘cheat’ to the people of this nation.
The CPI(M) state secretary and the leader of opposition Jitendra Chaudhury and other party leaders joined the rally, organised by the party’s sadar divisional committee. Party leader Amal Chakraborty also joined the rally and said that the budget has ignored fund allocation for the state of Tripura and the North Eastern states as well.
Opposing the budget, Chakraborty said, “At a time when the government had assured of establishing AIMS like hospital and IIT in the state of Tripura, the union budget as presented in the parliament recently has completely ignored Tripura.”
