Agartala Feb 04: Showing serious concern over the delay in completion of recruitment process into Fire Service jobs, physically qualified candidates on Sunday once again laid siege in front of the chief minister’s residence in the capital city.
Voicing their demand, one of the aspiring candidates said, “We are in severe stress regarding our future. It is almost 1.5 year since we qualified the physical tests and later on January 8, 2023 we sat for written examination. Now it is February 2024, but neither the results of the written examination have been published nor the dates for viva voice have been declared by the department”.
“Several times and today too we wanted to meet the chief minister to apprise him of the issue as we are reeling with uncertainty about our future. But the police and other security personnel here do not even allow us to stand”, added the agitating job aspirants.
Another job aspirant said, “Many of us are on the verge of crossing the upper age limit for the job because of the delay in the recruitment process”.
Notably, the tests were conducted to fill up 304 vacant posts for firemen and 25 posts for drivers under the state Fire and Emergency Services Department.
The job aspirants urged the chief minister to look into the matter and ensure that the recruitment process is completed by announcing the dates for viva voice without any further delay.
