Derailment of Goods Wagon: Six Trains cancelled on Guwahati Line

Agartala Nov 01: Train Services in Lumding-Badarpur Hill section continue to remain disrupted due to derailment of a goods wagon inside tunnel no. 2 near Mupa at kilometer marker 52/5.
However, efforts are underway in full pace for restoration of the rail traffic.
According to a press statement issued by Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Northeast Frontier Railway, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma on Friday, “Train Services in Lumding-Badarpur Hill section affected due to derailment of a loaded goods wagon inside tunnel no.2 at KM 52/5 near MUPA at about 16:00 hrs on October 31, 2024. Repair and restoration work is going on, Senior Railway Officials are at site for monitoring the restoration works”.
“Normal train movement is expected to be restored later today”, it added.
Meanwhile, because of the derailment, schedules of numerous trains have been impacted with at least six trains being cancelled, few partially cancelled or rescheduled.
Crucial trains that remain cancelled includes; Guwahati-Agartala, trains like New Jalpaiguri-Guwahati, Guwahati- Dullabcherra, Guwahati-Silchar, Silchar-Guwahati and Agartala-Firozpur Cant.(Tripura Sundari Express).
Also, other trains like SMVT Bengaluru-Agartala Humsafar Express and Tejas Rajdhani Express from Anand Vihar Terminal to Agartala have been partially cancelled.
