Eco-Tourism: Tripura youths sent to HP for training

Agartala, Dec 04: With an objective to promote Ecotourism and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities in Tripura, a group of indigenous youth has been sent to Himachal Pradesh Sustainable Catchment Forest Management (SCATFORM) for a 14-day training programme.
They are now undergoing the training on basic level boating and water sports course. The training has commenced from December 1 last and it will continue till December 14 next.
According to an official, a total of 14 youths from Nakyacherra, Kalajhari and Ramnagar ADC Villages under Gumati Wildlife Sanctuary were selected for the training programme. After completion of the course, certificates will be given to the trained youths. This is for the first time that the SCATFORM Project is conducting such a training program for the youths.
The training is undergoing at the Regional Watersports Centre (RWSC), Pong Dam under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMS), Government of Himachal Pradesh.
During the course, both theoretical and practical training will be imparted to the youths.
