Belonia July 1: Attacks and violence unleashed by BJP indicates the beginning of its last days, commented CPM State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury.
Chowdhury along with Deputy Leader of the opposition Badal Chowdhury, Left Front convener Narayan Kar, MLA Sudhan Das and other leaders visited Belonia on Thursday to inquire about the victims of pre-and-post by poll violence. The team interacted with the affected persons and their families.
The CPM leaders condemned the attack on its party workers and blamed the ruling BJP for unleashing violence.
Speaking to the media, Jiten Chowdhury said the attacks indicate the beginning of the last days of the fascist BJP government.
He said by-polls were held in Agartala, Bordowali, Surma and Jubarajnagar, but violence also erupted in Belonia - he exclaimed and said, “Where elections were held and where violence were taking place. This is the last stage of recklessness and desperation”.
Chowdhury continued and said, people have started realizing that they made a mistake and that’s why BJP activists launched attacks on CPM workers.
The people are just waiting to witness the last day of BJP. Terror cannot keep a party in power for a long time. People will give the right answer at the right time, Chowdhury commented.
