Kailashahar, Nov 08: The CPM on Friday received a major boost with the joining of 193 voters from Congress, BJP and Tipra Motha.

Opposition Leader and CPM state secretary Jiten Chaudhury welcomed the newcomers in the presence of former minister Tapan Chakraborty. The joining programme was held at Srinathpur Gram Panchayat area.

CPM Unakoti district secretary Krishnendu Chowdhury, secretary of Kailashahar sub-divisional committee Biswarup Goswami and other local leaders were present.

The former minister alleged that a section of ruling party leaders is looting the government funds by depriving the people of development. He cited it as one of the reasons behind the joining of 193 voters to CPM.

Chaudhury targeted the BJP in reference to recent communal tensions at Kadamtala, Jirania and Gandacherra. He also criticized Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on various issues.
