
Agartala, April 17: Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Tripura on Monday.
Governor of Tripura Satyadeo Narain Arya administered the oath of office to the new Chief Justice at Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and his cabinet colleagues- Law minister Ratanlal Nath, Finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Youth Affairs and Sports minister Tinku Roy, sitting judges of the High Court of Tripura including Justice Amarnath Goud and Justice Arindam Lodh, Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey, senior lawyers and other dignitaries including Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha and DGP Amitabh Ranjan also attended the oath ceremony.
Justice Singh was a judge of Jharkhand High Court before being sworn in as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court.
Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court replacing Justice Jaswant Singh who recently retired.
